So as I watch the flames,
Consume our world-
Their majestic hues,
Reds, yellows- pure blue.
Surrounded us, closing in,
Separated, trapped within-
I saw humanity, life in these flames,
Innocence, honesty, truth- it put us to shame.
Our lying society, a refuge for posers,
Addicted, living for the next fix- the final closers-
Couldn't hold a candle to this magnificent fire,
So, I watched as the flames marched inward, I didn't fight, didn't tire.
At least the flames knew who they were, and what they weren't,
How many of us can say the same?
